    Perfect for Lake Malawi Mbuna

I have just installed my Malawi Mbuna Aquarium and the fish already love to burrow in it and it is a beautiful white colour.

    Not satisfied Sand

Should have gone to the bottom of the tank. All instructions followed. After 12 hours it still looks like milk. Very expensive for what it is. Now in the trash

    Overpriced - aquarium substrate

sand is not easy to clean, it takes about 20 flushes of the bag. Not that bad. The worst thing is the price, it's not a very good sand for the price. Mistake on my part, don't do the same thing, just buy cheaper sand.

It takes forever to drive away the clouds

The sand is fine. Turns yellowish when wet. I start our third tank. It took two weeks and two canister cleanings to clear the water before the fish could be added. I even washed the sand thoroughly.

Makes fish sick, good for fish and aquatic animals

Replaced this sand in my established aquarium, lost all my fish soon after. Thought it was stress from changing the substrate, getting new fish, no. I had to shock the tank with medicine to make it livable again. Whatever it brought, it was disgusting and deadly.

    Pros
    • Easy to read control panel
    Cons
    • Definitely a bad product

    Great product for cichlids!

Two of my cichlids are 3 to 4 feet long and they went from aquarium gravel to this sand and have completely changed! When I first got them they were quite a dull color, kept chasing each other and just didn't look happy! But I bought this sand and since then they have been digging and spitting sand rubbing their bellies and making little holes in their houses and plants to sleep in and they are really happy and their color has gotten lighter too! You have to rinse the sand off thoroughly before

Great for clams and increases hardness

I bought this sand for my new clam tank (Neolamprologus Multifasciatus) that I'm moving my colony to. They love this material very much, it's a good little grain for them to dig, navigate and build piles. The hardness has also increased significantly. I've only tested with a TDS meter but in 2 weeks TDS in water has gone from 170 from the tap to 210 with sand, higher than any of my other tanks and a noticeable increase in hardness. I expect it will continue to increase as the tank matures and…
