EXCELLENT first planted lantern!

I'm so glad I took the risk! I wanted the lighting in the planted tank to be good enough to allow my medium to high light plants in my standard 10 gallon tank (low tech setup and I'm a beginner so my expectations are low) a little to grow. I was torn between this and Nicrew, but the built in timer and fun night effects bribed me because I don't have a timer output at the moment. The full spectrum Nicrew probably looks brighter because it has more white light LEDs and may have a better spectrum…

Instruction manual is bullshit

My advice to anyone purchasing this flashlight is to take the time to rewrite the instruction manual so that you can understand it and put the instructions in one order or another to order which is very difficult to follow and their footnotes are for the setup they are referring to, it took 4 days to get this working properly. DIY mode is a bit easier to set up, but it also comes with a number of issues, especially when you get to L7 and L8. No matter your end time in L7, no matter the…

Unnecessarily complex interface, poorly translated manual, missing basic functions

I have read the manual several times and can't get along with the modes. The default 24/7 mode doesn't let you adjust the light output, but supposedly you can set the "day" period to be shorter. I tried it twice, reading the instructions out loud as I went, and the moonlight cycle (which you can inexplicably set. but not daylight? Why?) accidentally turned on in the middle of "day". if you want to do the DIY mode, yikes. The interface is a mess and none of the keystrokes are intuitive. All I…

TAKE A RISK WITH YOUR CORAL

I've only had this lantern 2 days and am already unimpressed with its quality. I have this on my small show tank with some new frags. The tank is deep so the light needs to be 100% bright to reach the bottom.
