Aquatop External Control Digital Heater Series Review

The first one that came didn't work but at least looked good :) . I asked for a replacement. The second was completely broken. Sent back and asked for money.

I tried two of these heaters as most from the Aquatop range love great prices but this heater broke twice stopped heating , did NOT follow the instructions of the reef system on side, as indicated in the instructions, it cannot be used HORIZONTALLY. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

Bought this heater for my 75 gallon tank and 500 watts should do the trick! Everything went great for the first 5 days! Maintain a constant temperature in the tank! Day 6 it only warmed up to 71 degrees when it was set to 82! From day 7 to now it still won't exceed 62 when set to 82.

This Aquatop 500w heater worked for about a week and then stopped heating. It still had power for the device and was set at 78 degrees. The blue light was on, indicating it should be heating up, but wasn't. A 92 gallon aquarium will maintain a temperature of 70 degrees without changing temperature. We've tried unplugging and using a different outlet, but to no avail. We have several other Aquatop products and have never had a problem with them. The 500 watt design clearly has a flaw.

I bought 300 watts for a 29 gallon tank so it could be argued that once the heater was turned on it raised the water temperature so quickly that when the element turns itself on and off it's still hot and temperature elevated.
