Aqueon OptiBright Light Fixture 30 36 Review

Like the light, but the timer was difficult to figure out. I don't like that it doesn't stop at any dimmer setting other than 100%.

I have 4 Optibright lamps (2 plus and 2 max) in 4 different aquariums. I like that they all work with the same remote control so I don't have to juggle the controls and keep track of which tank goes with which. I had horrible algae with a different brand of light and after switching to this one not only did the algae go away but my tank got lighter and the plants thrived. For the price, this light is hard to beat.

This flashlight looks great and has some great features. But believe it or not, the light only supports light intensity adjustment if you turn it on and off manually. If you use the built-in timer, it will turn on at full intensity, as will if the device loses power (like using an external power supply timer). I thought I was doing something wrong so I contacted Aqueon only to find out I was right. What's the use of being able to set the intensity if you can't use a timer. If he could I would…

Very obviously inaccurate functional description. You can use the remote program to adjust the time, intensity and blue light settings. The programming only works if you switch the light on and off manually. But when the on/off timer turns on the light, all settings for all lights 100 become default settings.
