Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ Arducam CSI to HDMI Cable Extension Module with 15pin 60mm FPC Cable for Enhanced Raspberry Pi Camera Performance (Pack of 2, 1 Set)

This Arducam CSI to HDMI Cable Extension Module is to extend the Raspberry Pi camera cable with a standard HDMI cable, it works with the V1 and V2 cameras. By using high speed HDMI cable, the camera can run over 10 meters, that high extend the usage of the Raspberry pi cameras. In addition to extend the camera signal, the adapter board provides another 3 signals to be extend with the camera signals together via the headphone jack connector. It can be used to extend standard audio signals, GPIO signals or other sensor signals according to users need. If you need a longer and stronger cable with solid connections, it is right thing for you. This system works with all Raspberry Pi models.

Mandatory for Raspberry Pi Camera

Pros: Easily extends the camera up to 30 feet. The socket on board can supply up to three additional signals of your choice. (I didn't know this until I got it! GPIO pins, audio, I2C signals.) Cons: None

Very innovative product

I've only been using this product for a few days and am very impressed with the concept of using an HDMI cable to extend the RPi camera interface ribbon cables. It works as expected. Flat camera cables are not easy to manage. HDMI cables are much easier to twist and turn.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Expensive

Works well, easy installation and setup.

Works well for my app. One thing I'm trying to figure out is that it doesn't work in "USB" mode in combination with Octoprint / Octolapse as recommended for an Octolapse Pi camera. A Pi Camera connected directly via a ribbon cable will do this, but these adapters will not.

Pros
  • Dope ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Cons
  • Updates

This works great for extending the Pi's camera without causing any glitches. I used to use a 500mm cable which caused a lot of interference. With this product and a 2 inch HDMI cable, the picture is perfectly clear. Use on a 3D printer for OctoPrint.

Easy to install and works like a champ!

I hate long ribbon cables! This made it very easy to route my thinner HDMI cable to the back of my printer and easier to hide the cable than a long wide ribbon cable. If you disable HDMI, you must restart the service that starts the camera. I thought it was a hot swap but as soon as you unplug the HDMI connector it loses connection and doesn't come back until you reboot. That's not bad as I don't plan on doing this very often, and certainly not at print time.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Null

Got Bamboozled for audio and video accessories

These turned out to be too good to be true, but that's not their fault, it's my fault. These things appear to be well made and are probably great for what they are intended for, which I don't need. But I don't give a star for my mistakes. Buy with confidence! However, note that converting HDMI to CSI-2 requires some logic and more. You simply adapt from the CSI interface to the HDMI connection. Maybe I'll run it on my RPI4 to see if I get a result, but due to laziness this review is probably as

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish

I was really looking forward to these adapters because the flat cable for Raspberry Pi cameras is fragile and the connector layout on the boards sucks. These adapters would be an improvement except the mounting holes don't match the mounting holes for the Pi camera I have and the ribbon cable is rotated 180 degrees the wrong way no matter how you flip this board. The only way is to hot glue it to the back of the camera. None of this was made clear in the product description. I'll save them forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Nothing

Thing isn't much bigger than a pair of chewing gum. , and must be split to separate. Or I hope so. There is no information on the seller's website on how to make it, assemble it or what the screws in the plastic bag are for. A bit strange as there is a good tutorial with good photos for other items they make. Well, I guess performance is all that matters, but for those just getting started with computers (as far as RaspPi and Arduino go), it's a small leap of faith to start breaking boards, orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Has been damaged

Works great with the new Pi 12MP HQ camera

I just received the CSI HDMI cable extension module and got it working with my new Pi 12MP HQ camera and the video quality is great. I made a 1/8" thick polystyrene mounting plate the same size as the Pi 12 mp HQ camera board (38mm x 38mm) and capped it with 6mm spacers and a 2.5mm x 10 mm installed on the back of the camera board. Screws. Before attaching the mounting plate to the camera board, I drilled a hole pattern to match the hole pattern of the camera expansion module and mounted theโ€ฆ
