Description of Arducam for Raspberry Pi Ultra Low Light Camera, 1080P HD Wide Angle Pivariety Camera Module featuring 1/2.8Inch 2MP STARVIS Sensor IMX462, perfect for Raspberry Pi ISP and Gstreamer Plugin compatibility.

This camera is a new member of Arducam Pivariety series, which adopts an IMX462 low light sensor and also supports hardware ISP functions like AEC/AGC, etc. That is to say, with this Pivariety, you can get much more decent image quality than the Official cameras in low light conditions. Shot Image and Video: Still image resolution of 2MP 1920×1080; ISP output image format of JPG, YUV420, RAW, DNG; Adjustable frame rate, up to 60fps@1080P; ISP Output video Format of MJPEG, H.264. Ultra Low-Light: IMX462 Color COMS sensor produces the camera capture the minimum illumination 0.01Lux, which gives you clearer visual joy for low light and night vision. Lens SPEC: M16 lens mount, HFoV of 92deg, F/0.95 wide aperture ensure enough amount of light that can enter, which enhance the ultra-low light function of this camera module. Compatibility: Supports Raspberry Pi 4, Pi 3/3B+/3A+, and other A & B models (Doesn't support Raspberry Pi 2B and Pi Zero). Compatible w/ all libcamera-based apps maintained by the RPi foundation, like Gstreamer, OpenCV etc. NOTE: Pivariety can only work with libcamera instead of raspistill application.

Good product in Computer Components section

I used this camera for one of my research and teaching projects. According to the description, the camera works perfectly, it is quite easy to assemble and work with raspberries. The nature of the product requires some technical training from the user. An example autofocus script from the codebase works for me with no problems. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality camera. Two options for the manufacturer that I would like to mention1. Assembling the camera body is a bit…

Don't waste your time

The list is misleading if not outright wrong. This camera does not have an auto focus function. It has motorized focus that you must set through the Python app, and be sure to keep the app running or you'll lose focus as soon as it closes. support is not helpful. They told me to install a third party plugin (Arducam Focus for Octoprint) which is very stupid to rely on but other than that it doesn't work either. I'd love to comment on the actual quality of the images, but without being able to…

Looks best under Computer Components

UPDATE: Mmmm. Yes. Turns out I had *TWO* bad wires on my Pi. Once I replaced them with the ones that came with the cameras (too short for my purpose) they work great. And they focus too! I just keep the one I wanted to return. :) ORIGINAL (BAD) REVIEW: But I can't get my RPi 4 to recognize it. The classic RPi camera is recognized and works fine. There is no technical support for ArduCAM and there is no answer on the ArduCAM forums to my question what could be wrong. Again, vcgencmd recognizes…
