Nice heavy tool for the job.

This tool is well made and was delivered and received on time. Wrong tool for my application, but because of the money I didn't use it anyway.

What a deal - tools and equipment

When I received this valve spring compressor it looked flimsy but we have used it to repair a Triton V10 engine and it works well for us without failing . Great buy for the price.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Repair

Made of cheap cast metal

Was cheap cast iron! It broke in half when I tried to use it on the 1st valve spring. I got 1 from OHEM, it had the best design, made of quality metal and worked great.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • thin

Highly Recommended: Tools and Equipment

This works well for removing 4.6 valve springs, but this tool requires larger forks for the cam side and a smaller OD on the spring compression pocket. This tool likes to slip up to the tool spring and pushes the spring into the detented valve, causing it to get stuck when squeezing and adjusting the valve latches instead of holding the valve centered. With the help of a friend, I was able to use this tool to remove and replace valve springs and valve seals in under an hour and a half. Greatโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Problems

Worked with mods to fit valve tools

Had to modify the leg (opening the gap and beveling the top edge) to give a bit more access for the valve holders to snap in and slide around the root. Once I did that I did a great job using Trans Goo to make them sticky and a magnet to place them on top of the stick. Once the first is installed, slide it down to the underside and compress the spring just enough to allow it to slide without loosening and with just enough tack to hold it in place. These were Ford 4.6L 1/4" valves. Bought a $75โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Functionality
