Item received was used

I was sent a used or refurbished item, not a new one. The packaging looked suspicious/random. And when I tried to activate, Comcast said that this serial/MAC address is already registered for someone else.

Checking the correctness of the components

When trying to activate the service provider, the device did not work. In preparation for the return, I noticed that the power supply has an output voltage of 5V, while the modem specification calls for 12V. Luckily I'm holding on to stuff and had a compatible power supply. Tried to activate again and it worked!
