Description of Arteza Expert Watercolor Paper Pad - 3 Pack, 5.5x8.5 Inch Watercolor Sketchbook, 30 Sheets Each - Spiral Bound, 140lb/300gsm Cold Pressed Acid Free Painting Paper for Dry & Mixed Media

Value 3-Pack: Many watercolor sketchbooks offer just 12 sheets max. But your Arteza set gives you three 5.5"X8.5" pads – 90 sheets in all – so you can play with techniques & effects to your heart's content. Professional Paper, Affordably Priced: Why spend a fortune? Your Arteza watercolor paper is thicker & heavier (140 lb./300gsm), so it can stand up to multiple washes without warping or bleeding through. Just-Right Texture: Not too rough. Not too smooth. Your Arteza painting paper has a cold-pressed surface – slightly textured or "toothy" – so it's ideal for large, even washes & for finer detail, too. Designed and Created by Artists: Here at Arteza, we are passionate about creating products that inspire. For us, art is an expression of the human experience. That’s why we work to make our art supplies accessible to all people. Excellent Book!: Art Paper

Finally something I can afford and good quality! I'm currently learning watercolor and drawing, this book is excellent. I can use watercolor, pencils, markers and even acrylic paint and it sticks 100%! I will definitely use them in the future! There was a review stating that it falls apart once water gets on it, the advice is to return it because Arteza 100% guarantees their product.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great for practice - watercolor paper

I reckon the binding is strong enough to put in my purse without bending and the paper works quite well but I think it would be " Expert", to call it paper wrong. a little much. It works just as well as Canon XL paper. It folds easily and has the same disadvantages as any other pulp paper. I use it for practice and it does the job. If you are making something for sale or hanging at home, choose 100% cotton.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Not trendy

Doesn't blend well with watercolor pencils

Very disappointed. The size is perfect and maybe they'd be great for someone else, but I've used them with Chromektek watercolor brush markers and they're terrible. Once you put the brush on the paper, it won't smudge after you add water. The photo shows that there are no marks where I put the marker on the chromatec paper. You can't make it disappear and smudge on artesian paper. You need to apply the brushes to the palette, moisten with water and then apply. Not the application I was looking…

Worth buying multiple times for stress-free learning

Ideal for beginners, those just starting out with watercolors, or even if you just want an inexpensive way to test methods and use them for everyday purposes. I have brought the brand's watercolor paper books (single sided and now double sided) several times just to enjoy and practice drawing before working on larger artworks with new techniques or to test different brands of watercolor. Overall worth the money if you don't want to spend a fortune just to learn how to paint and learn with…

So far, so good!

Just received today. I bought mine from Revain for about $18 and they were in like new condition! The spiral binding on two of the three was slightly damaged but that was most likely due to shipping as it was sent in an envelope rather than a box. However, I managed to bend them back to their original shape. The front cover is thick cardboard, the pages are nice and thick. The size is 5.5 x 8.5 from the perforated line to the end of the paper, which is good, some brands include the spiral part…

Best Practice and "Copying " Watercolor Notebooks.

I have to say I was very impressed with this paper. I was very nervous about buying this because I didn't need another product I wasn't using and it ended up in my pantry closet taking up valuable space for other supplies. The flow of color and ability to handle water are pretty decent. This is not Arches watercolor paper but for the price and the amount of paper you get you can't get any better. I usually find it difficult to practice in the more expensive, better quality magazines because I…

Pros
  • The right texture: not too coarse. Not too smooth. The surface of your Arteza fine art paper is cold pressed - slightly textured or "serrated" making it ideal for large and even fills as well as fine details.
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
