Type of review

The packaging says that the brushes are not suitable for shellac and varnish. Foam is not suitable for oil paints. I bought brushes to paint wrought iron windows and doors with rustoleum paint. The brushes will soon begin to disintegrate, leaving small pieces of foam on the painted surface. I've used other, more expensive, foam brushes and rollers that don't fall apart when exposed to this type of paint. Not sure what the difference is with materials other than the type that costs more money.

Pros
  • Wooden handles
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Won't buy again

These brushes are definitely good value but I wouldn't buy them again. With about every third brush, foam flies off the stick after the first two strokes of paint. Brushes on which the foam is glued fairly well fall apart quickly. I had to replace the brush after 5-10 feet of edging. These brushes are a few millimeters smaller than other 1 inch foam brushes I've bought. I measured them and they are actually not quite 1 inch. Also, the plastic piece inside isn't rigid enough, so you have to…

Pros
  • Cheap pack of foam brushes
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Foam brushes are easy, what can you go wrong with them right? NOT CORRECT! I thought I'd buy them instead of going to Harbor Freight. They were a little cheaper too. But it's a lot worse. These brushes are uneven, so whether you apply with the tip or the sides of the brush, they apply coverage in streaks. And they're only good for about 10 minutes. I tried three different brushes and two had the foam separating from the plastic. On another, the plastic came out of the wooden handle. I used them

Pros
  • Can be used with all paints except shellac or lacquer
Cons
  • Legacy
