This classically styled spiralbound Studio A4 portrait sketchbook is made from greyboard covered with black Wibalin cloth (which restricts warping), and a premium heavyweight 170gsm cartridge paper. The spiral binding is silver. Our drawing books also have sufficient tooth (surface texture) for general art and design applications, suitable for light washes. Slight buckling will occur when using watercolours and inks. All of Artway Studio branded sketchbooks are 100% acid free, we choose to use an oxygenated process rather than a bleaching one to whiten our papers. The ring binding allows you to add additional material to the drawing pad or to easily remove pages. We recommend manually closing the wire loops on a regular basis to stop the book from loosening, particularly if you have pages with added material. This premium plain paper artist pad is ideal for sketching ideas or presenting work. It also works well as a scrapbook!.

Amazing Sketchbook for Drawing!

Based on my observations, this sketchbook offers smooth paper texture and is perfect for sketching portraits. It's also easy to carry around and durable. However, it only comes in one size.

Pros
  • Durable hardback cover and high-quality cartridge paper provide a professional look and feel.
Cons
  • The smaller size may limit the size and scope of artwork that can be created or displayed.

Bad Binding

The weak spiral attachment was crushed and had to be leveled and rebuilt. The paper is also mostly suitable for pens, but not very well for more abrasive media. I would not buy this item again.

Pros
  • Ring binding allows you to add extra material to your pad or simply remove pages. We recommend closing the wire loops by hand regularly to keep the book from coming loose, especially if you have pages with extra material.

Completely falls apart after a month

We got this for Christmas. With light use it started falling apart (the lid came off) after about 3 weeks and is now completely unusable. Not sure if we had a defective one, but this purchase was a mistake and ended up being a lousy gift.
