The upper of these shoes is a single thin layer of material without the typical reinforcement zones found on most Asics (like the Gel Nimbus). Holes appeared on the thumb and little finger before the soles wore out. I usually wear a pair of Asics for about 6 months, but after 3 months they started having holes in the upper. They were big too. I usually take Asics 9/9.5, but for that I had to downsize to 8.5.

I have had over 3 pairs of Asics over the years and this is the first time I have had problems with any of them. I've been wearing these shoes for about 5 months and both shoes have holes in the toe. I only walk two miles a day. I don't run a marathon or anything like that. I noticed some unraveling at the toe through small holes. Which then turned into very large holes over the course of the weeks. Super disappointed with this purchase.

I have worn ASICS for over 20 years and have always worn the 9.5B for women. When they arrived they were too big! I had to return them and order full size (8.5B). I have high arches, narrow feet and the arch support is less than I would like but adequate. They are very light and soft. I could wear them all day to work (I stand and walk on tile floors all day) and had no problems. Very happy with this shoe. Not sure how long the top will last in the big toe area.
