After returning two expensive Crosshair VIII Hero motherboards and choosing this cheaper recently released motherboard, it worked great right out of the box. It took a few tries to flash the BIOS, but my Ryzen 5000 processor worked fine after booting. It comes with a driver CD, which is an interesting choice in 2020, but I used a USB BIOS flash. One note, the blinking instructions are in two separate sections in the manual, so it took a bit of experimentation.
