We needed to replace our old desk phone but we needed something that could double as an answering machine. I chose this phone as it takes up much less desk space compared to our old phone. Pretty good phone. I definitely should have received instructions to eliminate the evil traits. I turn my back on speakerphone and that helps. I'm not as loud as I'd like, but after trying 3 others I've settled on this one as the best of them all. Most callers say the audio on their site is good. I hear most people through the speaker, but I have to get some calls to my ear, and even then, they're not loud enough. Why two stars? Because there is no feature to add a pause to programmed speed dial numbers. For example, if I'm calling a remote voicemail, other brands allow you to put a pause between the phone number and then several pauses and then your PIN number. It's not clear why this brand doesn't have this. I also don't like how far it sticks out from the wall when using two standard mounting studs. My last wifi was only half done. I love this phone! I've had several cordless phones over the years, but none quite compare to this one in terms of features and ease of use. I particularly like the caller ID statement, which gives you the caller's name as soon as it appears in your caller ID.
