Description of In-Line Flaring Made Easy: πŸ› οΈ Introducing the ATD Tools 5480 Flaring Tool

Low profile design allows for use on or off the vehicle. Designed to be used with a ratchet to make flares easier. In-line design makes a more accurate flare. Double clamp and hex screw design keeps tubing locked tightly in position.

Broke on the 3rd lighter!

I followed the instructions verbatim. The threads of the "clamping base" were stripped off on my 3rd torch. These threads do not appear to be hardened. I will come back for a refund and buy OTC.

Far superior design!

The easiest flaring tool to use. Can produce single flashes or reverse (double) flashes or bubble flashes. The volume is larger because the size of each flare tool varies by size (you don't just change the die, you change the entire tool when you resize the lines), but it works MUCH better than any other flare tool that I have. ever used.

Much better than "Bar " Flare Tools

I bought this tool from another seller. The one I have doesn't deserve the previous negative review. Works well. The manufactured flashlights are of high quality. Suitable for both mild steel and Nicopp/Cunifer lines. Probably not suitable for stainless steel pipes. The block needs to be tight - get out the ratchet and hexes as a hex or hand wrench will not help. If you are threading a large sleeve, you can make a cross thread. Make sure the sleeve rotates fully and is square to the block…

I bought a similar tool from NAPA

I bought a similar tool from NAPA. With what I consider to be reasonable torque, the clamp does not close tight enough around the pipe for the hex socket to be threaded onto the nipple. Can't say it wouldn't work with more torque as I didn't push it to the limit. I can say that it didn't look very promising. Even if more torque would work, you would use a wrench with one hand to keep the 2" base from turning with the other. bad physics. kinda useless for working under the car. That's why I got…

Gets the job done with a lot of patience.

40 years retired in the auto shop I needed a cheap brake line flaring tool because my old KD tool was worn out. A lot of patience is required with this ATD tool. Second set clamp base halves misaligned Revain sent me to replace the first set which was missing the center flare screw. The clamp base halves will need more precise Allen screw holes and/or dowel pins to ensure the halves line up perfectly when tightened. I did a few tries and pinched each brake pipe to get the halves perfectly lined
