The packaging advertises night vision. Green laser beams/flashlights are not night vision. The laser is pretty impressive, but I've seen youtube videos where the laser doesn't work properly most of the time. The pictures on the boxes read like "simulation" and not like the real thing. Glad it was a Christmas present but please don't buy it. The company knows what it is selling and advertises it as something different. Too bad you can't rate this Zero Stars. Bad enough that it's a total gimmick, worse that it's a dangerous gimmick. As another reviewer noted, I also feel bad when animals have that bad apology in their face for a shunned product. It uses a green set of lasers for propagation (not focused) which means at about 10 yards the beam diameter is measured in FEET! Additionally, it effectively (or rather inefficiently) functions as a glorified flashlight, since this thing has standard transparent optics

Big Waste of Money! To be clear, night vision is zero with these binoculars. There's a super bright wide-angle green laser light that illuminates whatever it shines on, allowing you to see through binoculars without night vision. I have Bushnell Trophy binoculars that I bought at a security checkpoint from Tractor Supply for $25. distance than those cheap incandescent binoculars. My 8 year old loved using it and as soon as I put the batteries in he picked it up and held it to his eyes while pressing the button - he turned it over and almost went blind! This is not night vision but a powerful green laser pointer that you use as a dangerous flashlight that can damage your retinas or the retinas of someone you aim at in the dark! In fact, the warning on the packaging reads "AVOID LASER RADIATION, DIRECT EYE POINT" and "Never aim like an airplane. It's unsafe and illegal!'"
