🚗 ATP B-331 Auto Transmission Filter Kit Review

Great product. Worked exactly as expected. It was a fraction of what it would cost if I bought an OEM part from Toyota. It's not a complicated device and it looks like others have had success with it too. I installed this myself on my 2009 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner with the TRD sport package. Very easy to change and the seal works great.

Used on 2005 Tacoma v6. Does not leak, good filter. I gave it 4 stars because the pad arrived badly folded and started tearing a little when unpacked. I was very careful with this and tightened the bolts properly which resulted in a proper seal. I had to be careful with this thing because I didn't want it to break. Gaskets from other manufacturers are not as fragile.

Works great, easy to install. The 4 screw holes in the spacer are smaller than the rest to hold a few screws when you lift the pallet. Tips: Open the package and make sure all 3 parts are present and working before proceeding with the installation. The first one I bought had a ruptured seal. In the second, I missed the puck. Both returned. Also the night before, flatten the block and put some books on top to align it. Otherwise looks like OEM and works! Used in my 07 4runner and 05 Tacoma.

This is in Tundra 2010 with 4.6v8 6spd automatic transmission. The original (Toyota) transfilter has plastic mounting sleeves about 1/2 inch thick. This filter is made from sheet metal about 1/64 inch thick (probably less). The four mounting screws are the same length, however the right rear threaded mounting sleeve is not deep enough for this difference in depth. You must relocate or shorten this fastening screw. Good quality filter but the gasket did not match my car, not even close. Also, it was folded and almost torn, which could lead to a leak. Had to reuse my old pad which was a better product anyway. UPDATE: After about 3 days of driving, my gearbox started to slip until it got warm. The fluid level was fine, so I figured the filter might not fit either because the gasket didn't fit my car. As the title says, fits well. I'm a 15 year veteran mechanic and I usually avoid non-genuine parts, but the ATF filter in this transmission is actually nothing more than a fine mesh screen, so $70 for an original screen versus a few dollars for this screen. is a valid alternative and I had no problems with this kit.
