I can't get enough of these plugs

I've bought so many of these plugs. They are ideal for repairing damaged cables or replacing a cable on a device. They are easy to use and safe. I can't comment on the water resistance as I don't use it that way. but they provide a remarkably reliable connection between two wires. I will continue to buy these for any repairs I have in the future.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • was damaged

not worth it - electrical boxes, wiring and fittings

The internal screws in one of the two junction boxes were broken. A heavy downpour cut off one (not very weatherproof) connection. When I tried to reconnect it and even tried gluing the connections in place, it just wouldn't connect because of the stripped screws. I ended up using marine heat shrink tubing instead. If I need to change something in the future I'll just keep cutting and splicing, but I won't buy them again.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Designed for round cable

Used for splicing underground electric cables. Works well in principle, but does not work properly when using Romex underground cable. Romex has a flat and oval shape. The connector at each end of the plug is round. The zip tie that needs to be tightened to seal the cable hole will not work with Romex. However, I used it anyway and filled each end with silicone sealant. I wrapped the whole thing with several layers of insulating tape. Hope it works!

  • Impressive

Weak internal construction.

Fragile internal construction. When trying to connect two solid 10 AWG copper wires, small screws won't cut it! With a little tugging, at least one of the three connections will come loose, and endless trying to figure out why you don't have a connection will take a very, very long time before you accidentally stumble upon that loose connection inside! What a waste of time and money. Maybe suitable for some very thin stranded connections?

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

it's great. The screws can be a little tricky to loosen/tighten, just make sure you have a small flat blade screwdriver and you should be fine. The largest stranded wire is 16GA, anything higher and it won't work as well. I removed the star due to the small set screws and the fact that there is no barrier between the 3 poles, meaning that if you don't insert the wire all the way into the hole an arc can occur between the wires and cause a short circuit . Still, it's an excellent watertight…

Great quality - a bit tricky to get it right.

I don't think this design could be thinner in profile. It's not a big key hanging in the middle of an extension cord. I just want him to be slimmer. I would have to solder the wires and wrap them with heat shrink tubing to make them thinner. The quality is just fantastic. Each end has an o-ring on the body and a cable gland to prevent water ingress when the cables enter the body. My line is a little thicker and I had to drill a little more through the end cap to get it through. 3 screws attach…

A great way to store an extension cord

I usually solder and glue when I cut an extension cord or any other type of cord. I came across these connectors at Revain and decided to check them out. I'm glad I did. It's a little tricky at first, but after you've got a few of these it's really easy. I suggest you put both end caps on each end of the wire you cut first. Note that one side of the connector is deeper than the other, and this is the side where the cable's physical connector should be inserted. I pressed down the connectors on…

Pros
  • Tools and Housewares
Cons
  • Disappear

I used these connectors to splice about an additional three feet of 12/2 Romex flat cable to increase the length of wire between the Wall and my dishwasher to extend. It took me about 3 feet of extra wire to get the dishwasher out and flip it over for repairs. All water connections were long. But the power cord was too short. I was cornered. The 12-gauge wire was difficult to disconnect from the railroad in its junction box. My solution: I would cut the power line and connect an extra length of
