This is exactly the type of product I was looking for for sifting used cooking oil and lard. I've used paper towels in the past and finally found one that I could reuse. Also easy to clean!

Received this today and although I have not used it yet I can say it is very high quality 304 stainless steel has a fine mesh and is also strong and durable. Would buy again and definitely recommend.

Very good product! But I can't imagine the filter working with anything thicker than water. I've used mine on kombucha and had to take the usual breaks (1-2 bottles) to rinse out the filter which I believe washes out the small SCOBY microparticles. But it helps.

This is a great colander. I mainly use it for straining kombucha yeast. The holes are so small that they can hardly be seen with the naked eye. 400 is great, I wouldn't use it for anything other than liquid liquid, once the filter starts collecting your flow it drops drastically so I would refrain from using anything viscous.

This net is so thin it looks like a solid piece of flexible plastic. The holes are not visible to the naked eye. I use this to strain herbal infusions between glasses. The liquid disappears surprisingly quickly and finally becomes beautifully clear. The standard can hopper ball is slightly smaller. It still works fantastic but you have to pour carefully and hold the funnel and strainer with one hand.

Good quality material. I put it on my metal grease trap to filter out smaller bits of bacon, breaded pork chops or whatever. My metal grease container has a metal "filter" that looks more like a strainer. The holes are quite big so I ordered it for its size, it fits perfectly on the top of my colander and I can even put a lid on it. VERY good CLEANS my fat! I do not fill this filter with very hot oil.
