Attwood 12562 6 Universal 40 Micron Outboard Review

It's difficult to find a decent filter for a small engine at an affordable price. I know Attwood makes these filters for outboard engines, but they seem to work well with any small non-fuel injected engine. I use them on my lawn mowers and they work really well.

I have been using these filters for a long time and change the filter every Spring when I tune my outboard. You must use one of these to prevent the sediment in the gasoline you buy from reaching the engine, especially during fuel injection. Good quality at a reasonable price.

I don't think I can comment on how effective the filter really is but it arrived as expected and looks well made. Ease of installation. For less than ten dollars this is an easy upgrade that can save you from getting stuck in the water or on land as it would be ideal for any use on the water OR on land.

After replacing my old fuel filter with this one I found that my difficulty starting my boat was due to the old fuel filter. There should be a small air leak from the old filter. With this new one, my outboard motor starts much faster, it seems to try to start right away, that hasn't happened in a long time. I don't want it to sound great, it was just a great result for me because the old one was really bad.
