Excellent quality for an instrument

This is a really excellent microphone. Not only because of the cost, but also because of the size. I play alto and tenor saxophones a lot and this mic has been the best mic investment I've ever made. The sound quality is crystal clear and once you've found the perfect spot for your instrument, it covers all ranges and all volumes fantastically. I highly recommend this microphone. So there is just one very small thing. At the end of the mic cable is a modular thing that drags across the floor…

Loud microphone well suited for microphones

I use this for my accordion's microphone on the bass side. I put on a little velcro and hang it down. It raises the whole register and you don't hear any key bouncing. It really is the perfect microphone. I liked it so much that I bought another one to put next to the piano, since I use a standard house microphone there for vocals now, so soon I won't have to worry about it anymore. I've already used it from the side of the piano, again with velcro and placed in the center and it works great…

Absolutely great sound quality

I plan on using this with VOCALS rather than an instrument, primarily a lavalier as I didn't want to pay more than $400 if there was a better way should give. Enter this guy and wow. I was amazed at how good it sounds. As others have noted, this requires 48V phantom power. If you don't know what that is, you probably don't have it. Luckily, getting something that supports it is pretty cheap. I'm using mine with an M-Audio Fast Track Audio device, no software, and have tested it with my web…

Outstanding build quality, design and sound.

Exceptional design and build quality, from the spring clamp, gooseneck, cable clamps, windscreen/shock mount and of course the mic capsule itself. Oh, and an XLR to mini XLR adapter with switchable low rolloff. Sounds great when I pin it on my lapel and point it at the kalimba (thumb piano). Provides a really useful, rich pickup across a wide range of input levels, from deep resonant tones to the high-pitched rasp of my rough fingers slipping off metal keys or the cracking of my fingernail. Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Clarity

As a professional trumpeter who plays live 2-3 times a week, I haven't found a better clip. The sound is great for the price. The low-frequency switch is very useful in order not to transmit to the public every hitting, tapping and draining of the water key. When we record live performances, I'm always pleasantly surprised at how lifelike I sound through this mic. If you didn't know better you'd think I could play haha. I've taken my PRO-35 on cross country tours and it survived easily despite…
