BEWARE OF BREAKING THE PIVOT PART, disappointed

The plastic part that holds the pivot hinge in place broke after about 6 months, I only use them at home and when I went around to lengthen them, part of them the headphones are broken off. They still work but are now almost unusable, a repair would require taking the entire earpiece apart and installing a new pivot hinge and such damage is not covered by the warranty. It has nothing to do with the refurbished status, they were in great condition when I bought them. That they break in less than

They are pretty good and I can't go back to regular headphones

I got these headphones after being fed up with all my previous headphones with a built in break cable. The sound quality is excellent. I use them for gaming/general use as I don't use desktop speakers. Their disadvantages are minimal, but still present. After about an hour the bandage on my head starts to irritate/sore. The ear cushions that come with the headset also feel uncomfortable. However, I strongly recommend not replacing them. Basically, I spent $20 on what appears to be a decent…

I like her. The cable is long but sufficient.

Good, good. I like her. The cord is long but it goes all the way to my bed so I can lie down and listen to music in bed! The spiral cable is shorter. (Why do people complain about cable? Hey, I don't know). The bass is a bit heavy but I can live with that aside from the "music" which is mostly bass. I don't hear that anyway. (I'm sure I'll hurt a lot of people's feelings when I say this. Get over it.) For the money you have to pay for it, how can you go wrong? They feel good, sound good and are

Fiction! Great replacement for my ATH-M35.

My old ATH-35 headphones were finally starting to die in the right channel, so I quickly went in search of a suitable replacement. I only connected them so they wouldn't actually burn out. My pick list for replacements was ATH 20, 40 and 50, Sens, Sony, JVC and Philips. I was wanting to get the 50s since it was Christmas but I looked at some tube reviews and they said the 40X sounded better. I will say I have LOTS of mid-range headphones and they sound AWESOME. I only hooked them up for about…

Very detailed sound

These headphones keep the excitement of the music alive without sucking the life out of it, yet are fairly flat. I prefer these m50x headphones for listening to music rather than professional use, they sound really nice and crisp and super detailed, the mids are missing around 500hz-1kHz and there's tons of bass but they cut out sooner than the 50's the separation is stereo much better than the 50's. The downsides are they don't have a short cord for listening and they only fold in one…

Use them at work and they sound great. They're big

Use them at work and they sound great. They're big, so a bit awkward, but they can't beat the physics. The foam earmuffs slip off so you can replace them later. Came with straight wire and twisted wire. They sound really good on in-ear headphones, bass sounds natural (and not too much). No ear fatigue after wearing for several hours like in-ear headphones. I often leave them on even when the music stops as they shield most of the outside world. As far as other people can hear them, if you hold…

Cool headphones! best in headphones

Actually pretty good quality! I'm a 2 year old music producer who just switched from the M30X and I have to say they are pretty good! They're damn durable, have a sleek, modern design, and feature comfy, soft padding on both the headband and the headphones, perfect for long listening sessions (although the headband is a bit stiff at first) and even comes with everything you need need to enjoy their sound at the highest quality (includes a leather case, a soft case, a coiled cable and a straight

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Compatibility

I bought these for home mixing and electric bass practice. I am very happy; I didn't think these headphones were refurbished. I found the sound to be very flat and honest (based on visual comparison with my spectrographic instruments), the headphones are very comfortable and was surprised that the gold cable adapter was also threaded (an added bonus I didn't mention). a locking mechanism that connects the cable to the headphone. Note that these headphones aren't "zero" quiet - I can still hear…

Good headphones in headphones

If you need studio monitor headphones, these are good; I like using them. The detachable cable makes portability/storage easier imo - I previously had a pair of ATH-M30x's that died in part due to issues with the non-detachable cable. However, if you're looking for a pair of studio monitor headphones with a good sound signature and for everyday listening, I'd recommend the ATH-M50x (their sound profiles are different, particularly at bass frequencies; it's worth upgrading for that purpose). I…
