Excellent quality and sound for a mid-range cartridge.

I wanted to go a step further than the $100 phono stage wagons and I wanted it on the cabinet so I didn't have to mount it. This one fits in my wallet and sounds great on my system. to my tonearm on a Technics SL-1200 MK2 turntable and set the downforce to 2 grams. Sounds good. I'm so happy!.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons

Great sound and good price

I bought this for my BIC 980 belt drive turntable. The old Shure cartridge had a broken needle and was very old. A replacement stylus costs the same as this Audio Technica cartridge. I used turntable setting gauges to install the cartridge. I have a lot of vinyl that I've only played once to put on a reel to reel cassette deck. Ribbons age and need to be replaced. Great sound with this pickup and Audio Technica stylus.

  • dope 🔥

  • boring packaging

Good cartridge. but.

This was a significant upgrade from my previous AT95EX cartridge, which in its own right is a decent sounding car. This sounds a little better and produces less internal distortion than my previous setup on some albums. I would also say that these 45rpm tracks record and play better than the AT95EX. The only downside others have mentioned is that it lacks some bass and verges on a 'tinny' sound - not terrible but not worth repeating in the future. However, it's still a pretty good cartridge and

I would recommend the VM520E stylus over the VM540ML.

I chose the VM520EB after trying (and disappointing) the VM540ML. In the end everything was checked. Very detailed and accurate but not penetrating at all (unlike the 540ML)! Pleasant bass, high frequencies, attention to detail. Excellent directional stability and with good pressure, no noticeable hiss. I've compared it to the previous model, the AT100E, and it's noticeably better in every way, although the AT100E is very smooth and a great operator. I switched the stylus from AT520EB to AT100E

  • Easy to use

  • Doubtful

A big improvement over my old AT3600L

First of all this cartridge sounds significantly better than the AT3600L which can be installed on my Heydey turntable. I really like how much clearer the high frequencies get as they don't get as dirty as they did on my old car. What attracted me the most was that the stylus protective case has a flip design instead of a plastic case, which means I never have to worry about losing the case or putting it in the wrong place when using it not use. Note that the needle is attached to the carriage,

Plug and play AT-LP120XUSB

Upgrade an AT-LP120XUSB player with this head and pickup body. This increased frequency response at all sound levels, and clarity was noticeably improved at lower volumes through my large vintage speakers using the phono inputs on my amp. The head body required no adjustments and matched perfectly with the original cartridge I was replacing. It was about 2.5 grams heavier than the original headshell and pickup, so the arm had to be balanced and set back 2 grams. I would recommend this as an…

Sounds good, good tracks!

Definitely an upgrade for the cart that came with my old Stanton STR6-80 turntable. I would say it's worth the money. I immediately noticed an increase in the lows and in the highs. On the Moody Blues record I'm listening to, the vocals come out really crisp and clear. This cart came with a couple of mounting bolts and nuts of various lengths but they weren't long enough for my plastic, luckily the ones I have. I have worked. It was just as easy/difficult to install as any other. Small and…
