Fits JL 7.7 inch best in marine electronics

This is a very high quality fiberglass product. Based on previous reviews I bought these knowing I would need to cut a slightly larger hole for the JL 7.7". Easy DIY, took 15 minutes. The speakers fit perfectly, but I wouldn't go any bigger.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Confusing

Made in China and not measured well.

Great speakers but my JL Audio 6.5 speakers were too big. I had to spend a couple of hours installing the metal clips because the speaker holes are so big there wasn't enough material for the screws to attach. They were so close to the edge that the screws shattered the fiberglass. Even with pilot holes.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Unreliable

Audiopipe Speaker Enclosure Mods

These are indeed high quality fiberglass speaker enclosures, but they have one major problem if you don't have a way to make and mod them: I have a 1/8th thick PVC ring made . and put in the box. See photos. I'm giving the audiopipe a 3 because it needs modification to work with most speakers.

Pros
  • Good Build
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

These are quality speaker cabinets. The opening is actually 6.5 inches wide, which is way too big for a 6.5-inch speaker. I modified them to accommodate 6.5" JL Audio speakers. They will fit JL Audio 7.5 inch speakers without modification, but larger speakers will not fit under my boat's gunwale. The customer service from this seller was excellent. The only reason I gave them four stars instead of five is because they don't fit 6.5 inch speakers as advertised.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Available in white only

The pictures on the packaging don't do it justice. When I received them I was surprised at how well made and finished they are. At first I thought I would have to paint them but the white gelcoat was perfect and matched the fiberglass of my Mastercraft Prostar perfectly. The boat only had factory cutouts for two speakers and these audio tubes were neatly tucked away in the gun bays just forward of the stern where I installed them to get the sound I was looking for.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great quality but a little big for 6.5 " speakers.

So I wanted to leave a review to clarify what others have written. Some say 6.5" speakers don't work, it's close but possible. The cut outs are a bit large. I installed JL Audio Marine 6.5" speakers and the mounting holes are right on the edge of the perimeter. Also the cut outs are a bit small for the JL 7.7 speakers. That's the only reason why this product doesn't get 5 stars from me. BUT most of all these boxes are of excellent quality and finishing is excellent. For perfectly matching JL…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • I'm getting nervous

Audiopipe 6.5 " speaker box Marine

These speaker boxes fail in many ways. First, they can accommodate a 6.5" speaker. You are not. The speaker hole is too big for a 6.5 inch. I took them to my local stereo store where they tried different brands of 6.5 inch speakers. None of the speakers could be installed because the holes in the boxes were too big to screw in. speaker was inserted. The solution was that I went to a separate stereo shop and had them make ABS rings that could be attached to the speaker boxes so you could even…
