The straps themselves are strong and look well stitched, but the ratchets are cheap; The body looks like it was formed out of 18 gauge sheet metal, pretty sure it's not even 1/16 inch thick. When loosening the ratchet is not too easy and requires some effort. I would consider looking at other straps with a better ratchet design.

I've been looking for a 1.5" harness that is at least 8ft long for days. Many didn't have rubber coated ratchets that could scratch my car and gear. Others didn't come with soft hinges. Most did not have locking hooks. AUGO Heavy Duty ratchet straps have been tested in every respect. After using them I am 110% satisfied with the value these belts offer. The best of the best!

Very high quality stitching and feel. For my purposes I had to remove the locking mechanism on the hooks, but they can be installed at any time. I've had lower quality ratchet straps in the past and they just don't inspire the confidence I want when traveling in the desert, especially when it's wet and cold! This set even comes in its own pouch, which is nice if you have a lot of sets packed in one box. I can definitely recommend this ratchet set!

I'm driving my motorcycle across the country with a trailer hitch on the back of my car. Walked through and used a lot of belts. These are definitely the best. The hooks will not come loose for any reason; Belts are heavy and can withstand heavy loads; The ratchets are as smooth and of such high quality than any cheaper brand. You pay more for these straps, of course you can find cheaper ones that are pretty good, but they are simply the best when a strap absolutely cannot fail.

I used these ratchet straps to compress my new dirt bike's front fork about half way so it could fit in the rear opening of my minivan without having to fiddle with the handlebars and fairing lights. The ratchets work smoothly and pull the belt tension easily with very reasonable effort on the handles. The trigger mechanism works great. Protective spring clips that hold the hooks in place when the tension is released are a great idea. My old belts didn't have safety clips and they came off…

I recently fell in my garden trying to move a large object that wasn't tied down. I have a variety of belts that can carry over 500 pounds. The concern for safety comes when you try to take the pressure off of those straps. To undo the strap on a mini winch, you need fingers that don't feel pain. I actually use them to attach a power chair to the back of a minivan. The old straps I used were much narrower causing excessive wear where they crossed the chair despite having padding under the strap, the S-hook kept moving away from its attachment, and the narrow ratchet handles interfered with attachment .
