I used these ratchet straps to compress my new dirt bike's front fork about half way so it could fit in the rear opening of my minivan without having to fiddle with the handlebars and fairing lights. The ratchets work smoothly and pull the belt tension easily with very reasonable effort on the handles. The trigger mechanism works great. Protective spring clips that hold the hooks in place when the tension is released are a great idea. My old belts didn't have safety clips and they came off easily. Two padded shoulder straps are a plus. I didn't realize that a pair of ratchet straps came with two, so I bought 4 extra padded straps. Now I have a lot of soft straps.
