Looks good but QC on production needs looked at

AVS has always been a descent product but has failed a little on this. As you can see in my pictures the hood protector is lined up perfectly with the center of the hood crease. As you can see the pictures on the right side show it should go over to the right more and the pictures on the left are spot on. So conclusion I believe is the right side from the center is about 1/8”. If you purchase this product I would highly recommend lining it up at the ends so it looks correct and disregard the…

Pros
  • Look great on my truck, protects the hood from road debris. I am very pleased 😀
Cons
  • The shield can obstruct the view of the vehicle's front emblem

Sharp, affordable, low profile, easy install

Bought this to cover up an ugly dent on the front of my hood. Super easy install! Only took about 20 minutes. Fair warning you’re going to have to put four self tapping screws into your hood.it’s on the bottom side not a big deal. I was a little scared about the brackets chipping my hood so I pryed them open with a flat screwdriver before sliding them on. Fixing to drive about 2500 miles with it starting tomorrow so I’ll be sure to update this if it flies off. (It won’t.it’s solid)

Pros
  • The shield reduces the amount of bugs and debris that collect on the windshield, improving visibility
Cons
  • The shield can cause uneven wear and tear to the front tires

Get your drill out!

Drilling required! Instructions are kind of lacking! Just take a few tries to test fit before peeling the backing or drilling the self taping screws. I didn't use a grease pen like they said to. Just use some masking tape to mark your spots. The shield doesn't come up as high as I would have expected to actually deflect any bugs, maybe at 80mph it might. But, anything less than full highway speed, I doubt it will deflect enough wind to push them off the windshield. I will protect the hood from…

Pros
  • Good
Cons
  • The shield may not be suitable for off-road driving

Ignore the average rating, this thing is crap

I feel like this will fly off of my 2019 ZR2 Colorado before I get my first oil change. Here's why:It came without the required double sided tape on the edges to start the application process, so that was strike 1 (cost me $8 just to put it on, so now I'm in over $80). The fact that it's only kept on my double sided tape and not tucked under the hood is strike 2 (not sure if it's due to Chevy design limitations). Strike 3 is that it doesn't fit properly (see pics) and I had to overhang it…

Pros
  • Very nice fit. Getting compliments on it wherever I go!
Cons
  • The shield can cause wind noise

Looks and Works Great

Installed this on a 2019 Chevy Colorado. Fit is perfect. Sits tight to the contours of the hood. Adhesion seems solid. I cleaned the paint with soap and water, treated with a clay bar, and used the included alcohol wipes. Drove about 400 highway miles with the deflector on with no issues. Hopefully, long term results stay positive. Bug deflection worked better than expected. It felt like bug impacts were reduced by maybe 80%. Some still got through but not nearly as many as I would usually…

Pros
  • Could of used a few more clips.
Cons
  • May interfere with other aftermarket parts you may want to add

no more bugs on my review.

I live in an area that has what we call "love bugs", nothing eats them, they are very acidic and quickly damage car paint. They "love" to fly over the roads due to the heat of the asphalt. I did not have the deflector when I bought my truck, and I was washing these things off my front grill and hood every 2 days. Haven't had to was my hood or front roof since I installed this.

Pros
  • The shield is made in the USA, supporting American manufacturing and business
Cons
  • The shield can block the view of a front-facing radar sensor

Poor included directions

The included directions are awful. The 2 end clips are impossible to figure out in which direction they go. The holes on the deflector did not align well. The edges of the deflector were way too far away from the hood. I re-drilled new holes that brought the ends in closer. You have to drill holes into the underside of the hood to attach the included screws. The adhesive strips are useless as they do not align with any flat surface of the hood. With some work during the installation the…

Pros
  • Custom-molded, durable chrome dipped ABS to match the trim of your vehicle for a consistent look
Cons
  • The shield can cause glare when driving towards the sun

Great deflector… drilling necessary

Looks great on my ‘22 Colorado. I put the same one one my ‘16 Colorado also. Don’t believe the "no drilling " description. To do properly, you’ll need to drill. Once you get past the drilling fear, its great.

Pros
  • It is easy to maintain and care for, requiring minimal effort to keep it looking and performing its best
Cons
  • The shield can cause damage to the hood if removed improperly

Awesomely Protected

This bug shield seems very nice it went on a little easier than I thought. Quite a few people stated problems with alignment when installing the shield but I found that not to be a problem myself. Follow the directions carefully and definitely hold it up to the hood as a dry run before pulling any tape back so you know the alignment

Pros
  • Easy to install, Install directions way to hard to read, really small print! Looks great.
Cons
  • It can make your vehicle look bulky and unattractive

Looks great but instructions not accurate

2020 Colorado LT, it works but the (4) adhesion strips didn’t grip to the hood at all so I just drilled two holes into the underside of the hood to secure. It requires 4 but the 2 had it plenty secure. The two brackets on the end slid on fine. Looks great but if you’re not comfortable drilling holes into the underside of your hood then I’d look elsewhere.

Pros
  • This was not really hard to install at all. I did it by myself. Really improved the looks of the truck.
Cons
  • The shield can be easily damaged by debris or hail

Fits like a glove in my review

Very easy install. Cleaned the surface with alcohol. Skip the little pads that come with it. Then applied 3m adhesion promoter from the sponge packet. Its on looks great zero issues.

Pros
  • It is durable and resilient, able to withstand tough weather conditions and rough terrain
Cons
  • The shield can create a whistling noise while driving at high speeds

Best bug guard Iv purchased.

Very easy to install and looks great. Has been on in the Georgia heat for months and still sticking on like it was new. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • The high-quality construction ensures long-lasting performance, making it a smart investment
Cons
  • The shield can make it harder to clean the hood creases and lines

Looks great on my review.

Fairly easy to install for two people . One holder (me) one person cursing ( husband). Only reason for the colourful vocabulary was due to one end protruding out a bit further . No matter what he did , it would not even put on both ends . It looks really good on our 2020 Colorado

Pros
  • Looks good, went on easy time will tell if it last or if it will break and Crack after the sun bakes it
Cons
  • now cant send back since the unit is so awkward and originalbx was ruined

Very nice by VentShade

Had to get over drilling a few holes in my new truck, did that and it looks great! I double checked fitment several times, marked it will and installed. Overall pretty simple and looks really nice on a 2020 Colorado ZR2.

Pros
  • The shield is custom-fit to the 2015-2022 Chevrolet Colorado, ensuring a perfect fit
Cons
  • Shorter drivers may have limited visibility due to the height of the shield

AVS was difficult to work with

I was missing one of the screws for installation. Reached out to AVS to get the screw; they were quick at answering.However.They were terrible at following through. They told me they were sending over the screws and yada yada. They never came.

Pros
  • ‎680054
Cons
  • The shield can cause wind drag and affect fuel efficiency
