Enhanced Brew Basket: Technivorm Moccamaster 13253 Automatic Adjust Review

We somehow lost the lower automatic drip stop mechanism and this was the perfect replacement. It is the same as the original.

I purchased a basket along with the necessary bracket from the manufacturer to convert a pot from a manual to an automatic anti-drip system.

It looks good on paper: You can get a leak-proof cup if the brewing process is not complete. But if you don't have the right brewer, it's just a paperweight.

Not sure why the mist eliminator at the bottom of my original Moccamaster basket fell apart but it was an accurate and perfect replacement which arrived quickly and did what it was supposed to do . IMHO, $20 is a bit steep for a plastic thing like that, but since the Moccamaster is my coffee maker, I won't complain too much.

I didn't like it because there are too many parts in the auto drip mechanism that can easily bind and break and there is no half flow position switch. My used ($330 new) Moccamaster had a broken brew basket mount that I bought off eBay. I contacted Technivorn USA and asked if they were interchangeable and the gentleman I spoke to on the phone said yes after confirming the possibility with a tech.
