Lower range, limited brightness

2007 Suzuki DRZ400. Goal #1 was to reduce power consumption so I could work with heated gloves - done. #2 goal was visibility for oncoming traffic - exceeded expectations (they know I'm on my way, of course). #3 Driving at night with the lamp housing fully adjusted, I believe the effective range of this lamp is 30 mph. Of course it will illuminate road signs and reflectors but it will not reflect enough light to drive safely at this speed. The difference between high beam and low beam is 5ยบโ€ฆ

Disappointing Bulbs and Headlight Assemblies

Purchased to replace the 35/35w H4 halogen bulb in a Kawasaki Z125. This is a quick install. The low beam is comparable to the standard low beam, maybe a bit brighter. But the high beam is only a few degrees higher, not bright enough. Due to the design, the emitters are only in the upper half, so only the upper half of the reflector body lights up, looks weird (see photos in other reviews). Those with left and right emitters, with low beam "shields", have a better design. I found the AUTOONE H4

High beam adds minimal brightness

I installed this on my 2021 Hawk 250 Enduro because the website said it was for motorcycles. When driving on a country road in complete darkness, the low beam illuminates the nearby road well. Switching to high beam does not significantly increase illumination. Rather, it emits a faint, diffused light above the low beam that is only visible when illuminated by reflective signs. I worry about spotting deer or other road obstructions further away than the low beam lights up. Therefore, this bulbโ€ฆ

Good for my round zoom light. Your mileage may vary.

I measured 13.86W at 12.6V. Very close to advertising. My scooter is about 50mph and this provides perfect light. I see it won't be effective in every headlight housing style and the high beam just shines a little further down the road. Night. I also switched my taillight to LED and saved enough watts to turn on the heated grips, heated seat and heated jacket liner. All in all, I'm using a lot of watts compared to what I saved, but the Zuma can handle it. This light helped me.
