When the unit arrived the problem resolved itself so the unit was put into storage for future use. Seems to be just what it takes to get the job done.

Due to the location of the plumbing in my basement, the drain backed up every time the washing machine was emptied. The BACKWATER DEVICE 2" IPS by SIOUX CHIEF Mfr Part #802-7 stopped the fuse and still allows the drain to function as a drain. Couldn't be happier.

Okay here's the thing, this product is the base screw in a ball float for your extra sewage drain. You'd think major retail stores would carry this item, after all I'm the first one I've finally replaced that I've bought from Menards. So the thing is that after 14 years the ball loses its buoyancy and no longer floats up, or rather the bottom screw in the device, there is a rubber ring on the device, so when it works, it really works.
