My daughter adopted two chicks from her 4th grade school project (they watched them develop in eggs in an incubator ) :-), So I needed a small perch. It's perfect for a couple of toddlers. It wasn't easy for me to twist (a lot of tension, it has quite long screws), but her father had no problem with it. Great price too.

As the name suggests, this is a very small roost and only for a few weeks before the fit chicks become too big to sit on. If you are looking for something for chicks under 2 weeks then this is a good product for you. Otherwise it's just too small for the chickens. Maybe it would be better for other birds that are smaller. Another disadvantage is that it is not that easy to assemble.

Our two week old chicks love this easy to assemble product. Sometimes they lie down and sometimes they sit on top. Our large cage does get a bit cramped as they grow so quickly so a two pack was a great option to prevent them from being cramped in one part of the incubator. I move her items about every other day to keep her entertained, and a small section of these poles works great in our setup for this purpose.

This perch was easy to assemble with a Phillips screwdriver. It's small but perfect for newly hatched chickens and turkeys. We have two chicks and this perch is perfect for them in their small brood chamber. I am giving 4 stars because while it is helpful the kids will outgrow it very soon. I don't think it will be that easy to clean either, but we'll see. The price is a bit higher than I want to pay. But if it lasts for many uses, it will be worth the money spent.
