poor quality and getting worse

the vast majority of these caps are unsealed. The metal is so thin that the lids bend. The rubber is so thin that it hardly seals. I suspect they are simple low quality Chinese fakes placed in a ball box.

The ball is the best! Matches tableware

Ball caps and rings for ball cans. What else can you say other than we think Ball is the best. Despite the shortage we chose to supply a couple of lids and they fit the bill perfectly. They are always tight and have never let us down. Just make a pet and wipe the discs before putting on the cap and ring.

Conservation Needs: Cookware

Couldn't find anything to buy locally so had to order. I was shocked at the price but found that everywhere I shopped online they were high. Tomatoes weren't expected so I ordered and that's exactly what I've always used. Still shocked at the price but love my men harvesting jars to use this winter. Many Thanks

Arrived expensive and dirty

Keeping it because I need it until the fresh canning fruit goes bad. Lids became late summer toilet paper (stock purchase). These boxes were stained with what appeared to be motor oil that had soaked through some of the lids. They can be cleaned but for this exorbitant price I would have expected better.

Pros
  • Looking forward to it

  • Something is wrong

Ball Lid Gasket - Cans

After reading all the customer comments about the cheaper lids I settled on the Ball Lids which I have been using for years even though they are more expensive. I've stocked up on peaches and Italian plums for me and my husband for the winter; only about 70 cans. All but one of the jars are sealed, which may have been my fault for not thoroughly cleaning the rim of the jar. I don't like paying a higher price for lids, but canning is too labor intensive to risk product loss through spoilage of…

Slightly different from the old "ball caps " but all worked well

Not a beginner. I've kept 400 liters, maybe more than 600, conservatively over the years. The plating and sealing seems to be on par with the old ball caps I have, so don't worry. In fact, the only thing that bothered me was the dimple on the snap, it was much less noticeable than my old ball caps. I mean visually. I'll admit I've only made 7 liters so far, but it was diced beef with gravy, so the pressure and time really put those lids to the test. All 7 are perfectly sealed with no signs of…

  • Satisfied so far

  • Expensive insurance

I just bought a stock of this year's caps.

I bought a bunch of these hats at the end of 2020 because I was desperate. I received broken, old looking ball top boxes, but the tops inside looked fine. So far I've used 140 of these with no lid breakage (seals were perfect). I used the autoclave at 13# for 75 minutes which brought the core temp to around 240 degrees. Q. They weren't my "balls" but they turned out fine. None of the jars showed any sign of forged or broken seals after 6 months on the shelf so I think the quality is fine. I…
