Not as bad as new. They remind me more of very hard pastel pencils or Conté colored pencils. I think the square corners of the Conté pencils are better for precision and you don't have to waste your product sharpening. If you are looking for the best, I would choose Conté. But if you're looking for a new gift, that's great.

These crayons are much better than wax for drawing with crayons. They go great with your finger, paper stump, or QTip. They are suitable for both small and large areas and are a great resource for coloring. The colors are vibrant, and while there are only 24 crayons, the ability to mix means you have many more color options, just like with crayons. I am very impressed with them and happy to have them in my art space. Highly recommended for both adults and children.

I love these crayons! They actually blend together and don't get that waxy sheen when you apply multiple coats of paint. I've had no problems with the crayons breaking if I drop them or apply too much pressure. The color is even and clean. My only complaint is that they feel too flimsy in my arthritic hands. I was very impressed by you. I first saw her on Joanna Basford's YouTube channel, like most adult colorists. I find it very enjoyable to paint with. They appear to be drier than wax crayons. They blend well and layer well too, at least to a point. They won't chip when flipped like modern Crayola crayons.
