Enhance Performance with Banks 51314 Monster Exhaust System Review

Installs in approximately 25 minutes. It sounds good. Don't overload the trail behind the rig behind you. worth your money.

A bit tight to install, not ideal for my 2004 tj. In general it seems like a good heavy tube. DOES NOT COME as shown. There is a joint in the exhaust pipe. Removing the skid plate can be your biggest problem.

Minimal signs of wear, maybe a few hundred kilometers on the road since the exhaust was fitted - terribly rusty, looks like crap. I am disappointed in banking brands. The Dynomax I took after a decade looked better.

Nice stock upgrade, not too loud but you know it's there. Undoubtedly delivers more power when going uphill and at high speeds. I have used stainless steel band clamps instead of cheap U clamps and have been happy with the results. Removing the protective plate for installation is much easier than not.

Good quality, sounds exactly what I wanted. It would be perfect for a production Jeep. It's almost inaudible when idling, but a pleasant noise under load. However, the exhaust pipe and tip cannot be used on a dana44 with a 4" lift, adjustable crossbar and hitch. The bend in the exhaust pipe meets the shock absorber. I have an exhaust workshop to bend what I need for the exhaust pipe. I tried installing other mods but nothing happened.

Very happy with this product. We researched many different systems before approaching banks. It had the best reviews and was reasonably priced. This system gives your engine a nice growl. Removing the old exhaust took longer than installing the new one. All bolt holes are perfectly matched, no drilling or cutting required to install the new exhaust. If your vehicle has a tow hitch, you may not be able to use the attachment included in this kit.

I did a lot of research before choosing Banks to replace my OEM (and rotting) muffler for my 4.0. Very glad I read all the reviews because I love this exhaust. Barely noticeable when idling and babysitting. And when you're on it, it emits a nice, hoarse tone. I replaced the included exhaust tip with a more traditional/OEM look. The hardest part was removing the transmission skid plate (thank goodness no bolts had snapped) and cutting out the old exhaust. Spray all bolts and hangers before…

The exhaust sound is amazing, a little quieter than I expected. Even if it gets a little louder over time. Basically a few volume levels higher than the stock version, but the sound is much nicer. Has a very pleasant hum. Everything fitted well (except for the tip) but the clamps that came with it were not of very good quality. Replaced them with stronger ones. The included exhaust pipe tip didn't fit due to my factory hitch. So if you have a hitch, consider other tip options as removing it…
