Faulty Tensioner Ruins Car Belt

My analysis of this product showed that it is not reliable and caused my car belt to snap within a few weeks of use. The tensioner failed to maintain proper tension, leading to dangerous consequences for my vehicle.

Pros
  • None.
Cons
  • Causes premature belt failure.

The tensioner did not tension the V-ribbed belt correctly!

Attempt 1: I bought a new belt and installed this tensioner on the car, unfortunately the belt did not tighten. (Okay, my mistake) Trial 2: Adjust the tensioner because I may have misaligned it, put on a new belt that's still too loose, try the old belt that's still too loose. Attempt 3: Put the tensioner back in the old position, still too loose. Reinstalled the original tensioner and guess what happened, it tightened! The new item had a job and didn't, make sure to prime the product if you…

Pros
  • For Hyundai Santa Fe Tucson Sonata; For Kia Optima Forte Sportage Rondo
Cons

Very disappointed with the quality of the product.

**** UPDATE: 2 weeks after installation the belt tensioner started making a rattling noise. I sent back the defective belt tensioner. **** I bought this belt tensioner for my 2010 Kia Forte EX. The original OEM belt tensioner failed after 10 years of use (47,000 miles).1. I visually compared the Bapmic belt tensioner to the OEM belt tensioner. They both seemed very similar.2. I chose to "reuse" the factory bolts and pulley washers as the new Bapmic bolts had different head sizes and some people

Pros
  • Improved performance. Easy installation. High Reliability
Cons
  • Drill Kit
