Terrible optics! on camera & photo

Although they appear to be very sturdy and good looking, I had trouble keeping my eyes EXACTLY on a very small spot where I could see the entire field of view without black spots showing up , albeit slightly off-center. Also, cheap lenses produce really horrible chromatic aberration (iridescent edges where they shouldn't). I had already returned another disappointing pair and was REALLY trying to like these but just couldn't stand them. Return to Revane.

A little too much chromatic aberration

Too much chromatic aberration for me (after correct focus). I'm not sure if this is a problem that collimation can solve, but even then I wouldn't want to spend time on it since I don't have a tripod at the moment. The amount of aberrations is enough to notice at 10x magnification and at 30x magnification it's not worth the time. I knew they had consistency issues, I was hoping to be surprised, but they put them back in the box and came back an hour after taking them out of the box. No Saying…

You need to collimate the prisms.

When I received it the prisms were not collimated. After watching a few YouTube videos and reading a few articles, I realized I had to adjust the lenses by turning the set screws under the rubber armor. After playing around with it for about half an hour, I was able to point it at the collimator. Kind of an unwanted annoyance, but nothing that can't be fixed. The picture is normal except in low light and at x24. It's easier than it looks. Good feeling with rubber armor, easy to set the tricks…

Good budget binoculars

Another "for the price" review. While others have stated that there is blur when zooming in, I've found that as you zoom in, your depth of field narrows enough that you really need to fine-tune focus. This is most noticeable when you zoom in from 20x to 30x. From 10x to 20x you will have no problems at all. Once you've done that, you can read the writing on a broken bottle from about 100 feet away! The optics aren't crystal clear as you would expect from a very high quality pair of binoculars…

Pros
  • Delightful
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Sometimes you get a little more than what you pay for!

These are inexpensive binoculars. If you're buying a Chevrolet Aveo and expecting a Maserati, I don't know what to tell you. Considering the price of these binoculars I have to say that they are pretty good. The focus is smooth, as is the zoom. Yes, you have to refocus after zooming, but my $2,000 DSLR should do that too, it just does it for me. From 10x magnification you need a steady hand or a tripod (mount not included). I tried holding it in my hand at 30x magnification and the shaking was…

Barska Gladiator 10-30X50

You get a bargain for the price. Is it comparable to Zeiss or Swarovski binoculars? no For the price, you're getting good value binoculars with variable magnification, which is a pretty good deal. This has to be one of the best vari-magnification binoculars on the market today for under $100. At the lowest setting (10X) you'll see sharp, crisp detail with good light transmission even in lower light levels, a bargain at this price point. As you turn up the power you'll find that focus may need…
