Works great for data

I bought this, remembering some buyers' negative comments. I connected each of the USB ports to my computer and then plugged a flash drive into each of the ports. I could read and write to both drives. I connected it to my Kenwood 9907 and it works great.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • So so

does not support high speed charging

I have tried 2 of these from different manufacturers and they work as standard amperage and data chargers but not for "quick charge" like my samsung galaxy note 8 there is a phone . I connected a USB extender to both the output of my car stereo and the "fast charge" output and the normal output and there was nothing on the fast charge output. Bypass this expander and everything works fine. Tried both with a regular USB cable and with a USB cable with a 56K resistor, but to no avail.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Some bugs

Feels good quality

Bought this unit for my car. Feels like the quality is good. My only issue is how narrow the ports are. After plugging something in, I had to pull as hard as possible to pull it out (and no, it wasn't plugged in the wrong way). As you can imagine, pulling with such force on something held only by plastic washers is a serious problem. So before installing, I took a small flathead screwdriver and gently/barely pressed on the (4) small tabs holding the USB connectors. It made him a lot better.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not the best

Great option for moving USB ports indoors

Wanted to install USB outlets in the center console of our sofa but wanted to keep the heat generating power supply away from the interiors. This solution worked great. We bought a 2 USB power strip that stays on the floor. And we routed the cable through the hole we cut in the plastic of the center console. We can now use short charging cables that are conveniently tucked away in the center console when not in use, rather than long USB cables that keep getting lost or snagged in the mechanisms

  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Protection

For a professional looking car radio installation

I have installed several third party radios in cars over the years and the USB cables inevitably either end up dangling or getting caught in the glove box. This little jumper fits in any cigarette lighter hole in your car and has 2 USB cable slots for anyone to plug their phone into. No soldering or crimping required, you simply plug the USB cables coming from the radio straight into the back of this bracket and install the bracket in the hole where the cigarette lighter was inserted. Good…

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Installed on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Works very well

I installed this in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. Replaced stock cigarette lighter. I kept the stock cigarette lighter but hid it behind the dash by plugging in a single USB connector. I connected one of the USB cables from the dual USB port to the USB port on the radio. 2-port USB connector to a 1-port USB connector plugged into the stock cigarette lighter. I now have: - A dual port USB adapter used for Apple Carplay. - A dual-port USB adapter port used exclusively for charging devices.

  • This is amazing

Nice clean custom install

I used this to extend USB cables from my Kenwood DDX9904s head unit to the console in my C6 Corvette. I removed the factory cigarette lighter and replaced it with this one. The cables feel thick and strong and are long enough to leave room. Now I can connect my phone and flash drive to the console and use Android Auto/Apple Car Play and listen to music from the flash drive. It looks like a factory setting. The only thing that seemed unusual to me was that the USB ports were oriented in opposite

Clean looks almost factory new

I installed a new radio in a 2011 Ford Ranger XLT. There are two USB sockets on the back of the radio. One is for Carplay/Android radio, the other is for charging. Instead of two loose wires dangling from the underside of the dash, I installed it after finding it at Revain. I used a dremel and cut out a circle in the lower right corner of the middle stroke. plug fits. I then connected two USB cables to the Carplay port and charger on the back of the new radio and it worked. I set it up so that…

Works well for cars and automotive electronics

I installed a center console in my minivan (TSI Products 57315). Wanted to add some charging ports on the sides of the console. I installed a 6 port switcher in the console and then put one on each side. Now I have two USB ports on each side. The console is made of plastic. It wasn't difficult to drill a hole and use a dremel tool to make the hole the right size. If you don't have the right drill, this worked just fine. The cables seem strong. They were a bit long for my application. I rolled…
