My gun fired ok to start then I took it to my room when I put it down it started smoking I quickly ran outside and tried mine Best to pull the battery out because of the heat I just threw the gun in the snow so it wouldn't set the gun on fire. it was still smoking and I pulled the battery out of my gun with a pair of tongs. my gun would have caught fire and even my house, but the snow prevented that. The wire has burned out and may now be unusable.

Product works as expected. I put mine in a DE M89 airsoft gun and the new battery is slightly thicker than the battery it replaces (which was only rated at 1150mAh). Where the old one might have slipped out of the gun, this new battery needs to be pulled out. However, this slight deviation is not a reason to remove the pinion and I suspect that in most or all other applications this extra width (compared to the DE M89's included battery) will not matter. I got an Ares Amoeba CCP M4 shipped direct from China by MoaiHobby and it looked like it was fake so it might have a circuit running the whole time which is draining the battery.
