This is a great value battery tester. As such, it performs the tests it was designed for very well. I will say that the sheet of paper provided that contains the instructions can actually be rewritten in English with a much more detailed description to better help those unfamiliar with batteries or battery testers. Gave me all the information I wanted to know at a price I was willing to pay.

I narrowed my search for a battery tester based on product reviews. This is the one I chose because I needed to test the batteries on a car that I realized had a parasitic pull. Although my multimeter tells me the current drawn, I needed to test the battery for total CCA. So far I have tested all five of our vehicles with it. I am satisfied with the product and recommend it as a cheap alternative to expensive models.

Product works but seems expensive to you for what you get. The device is made entirely of plastic and the probes are too short for comfortable use. Also, the meter does not have its own power supply, but uses the stray energy of the battery under test to power itself. This means that if the battery you're testing is too weak, you can't see exactly how bad it is because the meter itself won't turn on. All in all, while it does what it says on the tin, the feature set is poor for the price I paid

I had a 3 year old 1000 amp starter battery on the left engine. The engine did not spin sporadically when attempting to start. 24 hours after charging, the battery voltage was 12.67 volts. I bought this to test out a few batteries. of different ages (from two months to 5 years). Some that I knew needed "minor" [or beyond] replacement. EVERY battery is "100% good" tested. I followed the instructions carefully and tested the batteries in various "states" (ranging from 35 minutes to several tens of hours disconnected - and I used a Schumacher charger to find that the batteries were draining a bit and not 100% were loaded).
