Good batteries and charger

This set of batteries and charger is pretty good. The kit contains 8 AA 1.2V batteries and has a fairly high capacity declared for them - 2800 mAh. I can't confirm this as it would take a lot of effort but I can say they were easy to charge and testing with my multimeter showed them to be around 1.24v when the gauge showed they were fully charged . This is a normal voltage as rechargeable batteries tend to hold their voltage much better than alkaline batteries which start at 1.5 VI. I have used

Pros
  • USB AA charger
Cons
  • old

Let me first say that I am delighted with these batteries and charger. I have a couple of AM/FM/SW radios that require three AA cells to be powered. When I used alkaline cells, the batteries fit perfectly. However, I've tried 2800mAh rechargeable batteries from another brand and found them to be very cramped. So tight that I had to pry the third cell out of its bracket with a knife blade. I ruined the battery compartment in the process. Very unsatisfactory. I figured that was the price I had to

Pros
  • AA battery charger
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Nickel metal halide batteries are the preferred batteries for small AA and AAA powered devices. While 1.2 volts may seem like a problem since alkaline batteries are rated for 1.5 volts, in most cases this is actually not the case. Yes, there are some sensitive devices that will not work well or will not work when the voltage drops below 1.5V. This is usually a bad or cheap design. Standard alkaline batteries are only 1.5 volts when fully charged and the voltage drops throughout their life…

Pros
  • Protection for multiple AA chargers
Cons
