Decent embossing hammer for the price. The metal head appears solid, but only time will tell if it will hold up. The head is made of metal and the shaft grip can be replaced at any time. I would recommend buying.

I sent this hammer back because the head was askew and some of the silver plating was peeling off. It was not possible to remove and straighten the head. I bought a cheap but better quality one at the hardware store.

Wanted a small hammer for jewelry making. That's great. Small, nice smooth handle, hard hammer head. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a hobby hammer. It got to my house quickly thanks to the Revain Prime service.

Please note that this hammer has a completely flat head (not even slightly curved) with no straight edges, so when hammering jewelry you must be very careful to get it perfectly parallel hold onto your block or else you'll get marks on the wire.

The head of this hammer is flat, not rounded. This will ruin your wire. The only thing this is good for is to flatten the leading edge of the ear wire, but be careful to keep the ear hook away from the edge of the metal block where the hammer edge can't touch the wire.

The way the head is attached to the beautiful wooden handle is not very good. It attaches from the side, usually not the top. Also, the shiny hammer head has been chrome plated to make it look nice, but the chrome around the edge of the flat part of the hammer head looks rough and if you look closely the chrome is chipped.

Not Happy! Use to smooth an 18g piece. Copper and 5 blows to wood broke his neck and his head fell off. I think a screw with a countersunk head weakens the wood. Other big hammers don't have a screw! Waiting for news from Amazon, then I can edit this review. If I could figure out how to add an image you would understand what I'm talking about.

I am shocked that a tool designed to shape malleable metal would start shedding chrome chips the first time it was used. It leaves annoying little tool marks on my expensive silver. I'm pissed about that, especially as Beadalon tends to make higher quality stuff. I was wondering if it made sense to buy a special hammer for minting when I have a fine hardened steel hammer that hasn't cracked from hammering with it. Turns out I should have saved my money.
