Bearing Buddy 42201 II: Enhanced Bearing Protection and Lubricant - Silver and Blue Finish Review

My trailer came with a 1980 stainless steel bearing. good enough but requires a physical exam to determine if you have positive greasing pressure. I replaced it with a 1980a, also made of stainless steel. Its advantage lies in the clear blue ring that shows the overpressure. Makes things one step easier.

They are chrome plated which means they will rust. They stayed shiny for the first month. The interior is stainless steel while the exterior is plain chrome plated steel. Now they look terrible and I wish I had paid a little more for the stainless steel companion.

They were used on a light trailer I bought from a tractor supplier, admittedly they don't use the highest quality parts. The old caps were immediately removed and with a light tap of a hammer and a piece of wood they snapped straight into place. Then, after making a few squirts of lube, you can say you're fed up with it, watch a great seal, squeeze the rubber seal and you're done.
