Works well and is easy to use.

I installed these on my tandem trailer about a month ago (so I installed 4 of them). I've towed my trailer hundreds of miles with it so far. I towed a trailer on freeways and 4x4 dirt roads. So far they have stayed there. They are easy to lubricate and protect your wheel bearings. Just make sure you put a 2x4 on the hub when pounding it. This protects them from hammer blows and keeps them secure.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Be very careful - lasted 10 miles

Really wish they would work Rebuilt and installed the bearings on my trailer. One of the sides entered the highway after about 10 km. Lube splattered everywhere and had to end the ride from the other side without protection. I removed them and stuck them back on the original covers. The intervention just wasn't enough. A camp mate said chrome is a better fit than stainless steel, so I suspect they may have a known issue with stainless steel covers. An interference fit may not be sufficient.

Failed the first five miles!

My boat trailer has had Reese bearing protectors for years, but since I was replacing the bearings I decided to upgrade my protectors as well and bought these Bearing Buddies. Unlike the Reese, they have a shoulder that prevents them from fitting as snugly as they should. They broke down on a test drive and got lost in the first five miles! I mounted them with a block of wood and a hammer. They reached to the shoulders, but were probably not tight enough. After spending that money I went to the

They look good, fit well and fit the car perfectly.

Bought to replace a pair of old worn treads. The old kit didn't keep water out of my boat trailer hubs so needless to say the driver's side bearing failed. on the way back from the lake they rusted and fell apart when i took the wheel off.new bearings and seals on both wheels and now with new profiles i don't see any problems in the future. They look great, fit well and are snug, and the auto check feature works. It was pushed out 1/8 inch as directed in the instructions to show the hub wasโ€ฆ

Much better! - Wheel Accessories & Parts

Trailer I had a different brand of bearings installed. They didn't let water through, but over-inflated too easily, causing grease to spill onto the rims when moved and the locking piston to move sideways and let some water through. Advantages of these REAL bearing friends: 1. Stainless steel instead of chrome plated so it's easier to remove in the future without rusting.2. Equipped with a blue snap ring that keeps the piston in a stable position, easy to check if lubrication is needed and youโ€ฆ

Use high temp hub lock for hassle free installation

Replaced old rusty painted boat trailer hubs with chrome bearing guards (different brand) with new zinc plated hubs and added these new stainless steel bearing partner guards. BENEFITS: The blue ring gives a good visual indication of how full the hub is of grease. Mine did NOT fall shortly after installation as some reviewers have complained. Read the discussion of CONS below. CONS: Bearing Buddies don't come with a bushing holder to install, but they don't come with bearing grease either, andโ€ฆ

One time on/off suitable for accessories and parts

Bearing Buddies will help you avoid serious mechanical problems. You won't touch her and you won't forget her. They don't save you the trouble of repackaging and/or replacing the bearings. But they help increase bearing maintenance time. With proper use and maintenance, your bearings will last at least 2-3 times longer than without Buddies. Just remember to regularly check your seals for leaks and jack up the trailer to check your wheel for wobble. In any case, your bearings will failโ€ฆ
