Pushers work great. Puller not so much.

The puller is not suitable. The tips are too thick to fit under the gasket. But Lisle works great, so it's worth picking up. Applying the seals worked great and I think it's a steal compared to others. even if you add the extra cost of a lisle puller.

Pros
  • Some cam seals have screws to prevent them from being removed. Do not try to force this tool.
Cons
  • Almost everything is included

Inconvenient puller, good gasket installer

This two arm puller is horribly constructed and impossible to use. (The 90 at the end of the arms lacks the U-bend needed to grip the seal without slipping. Also requires 3 jaws as 2 are useless and impossible to juggle.) I spent 2 days trying to get a gasket out. As a result, I had to remove the cooler and use an ice pick. DO NOT BUY a set of professionally installed new gaskets!

Pros
  • Allows you to replace the crank gasket without removing the crankcase, saving you time and money. Don't be afraid to scratch the surface of the crankshaft.
Cons
  • sad packaging

Do not buy this to remove the seals.

I bought this kit to remove and install camshaft and crankshaft seals on a Toyota 3.4L. The uninstaller did not help. Both levers broke without removing any seals. The installation tools worked great once I figured out what parts to use and in what order. Using the Lisle seal remover removed all 3 seals and I replaced them all within 5 minutes. For starters, all you had to do was buy Lyle.

Pros
  • Use the screw provided with the vehicle to install.
Cons
  • Hard to say

The screw hole is quite loose so the entire tool can easily get out of position when installing the seal. Works well as long as you keep an eye on it, pre-lube the seal, start as close to the center as possible and work your way up slowly. So far there are no leaks from the new gasket, unlike the one I supplied with a bit of home-made woodwork. Most of them are actually from the same factory as far as I can tell so should be a reasonable buy for the price. I didn't use seal remover as I already

Pros
  • Can be used universally for a wide variety of vehicles with shaft seals from 27 mm to 58 mm in diameter.
Cons
  • Null
