Beck Arnley 036 1524 Valve Gasket Review

Arrived with only 3 large gaskets and 5 small ones (description says 4 large and 7 small). Factory seal is intact, was packaged like this, poor quality control. You have to backorder or do half the damn work.

Valve clearance adjustment made on the B18B1 and the old Fel-Pro was leaked immediately. It was 1/4 the price of Autozone and the perfect size. I have not used Hondabond or RTV Sealant and it worked great. Driven 500 km, no leaks.

My kit did not include a spark plug o-ring. It was factory sealed so I think they made a mistake. I called them and they sent me a set of 4 new ones but postage had to be paid. The product itself was good and fitted my 1999 CRV 2.0 perfectly.

Quality parts, everything you need to seal the valve cover and spark plug tubes. even comes with new rubber gaskets for reinstalling the valve cover. I used some sealant around the sharp corners of the cams, but I think you can do without it. Easy install, I watched my millennial son and it wasn't a problem.

Timing belt made on a CRV. While disassembling it I decided it was time to change the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube gasket. This set worked perfectly. The main reason I got Beck Arnley is reputation. There are many cheaper shim kits out there, but most of these are made in China and don't work well for rubber products. As a rule, after a few months in contact with oil, rubber deteriorates and begins to leak. Buy a quality part and get the job done the first time.
