Good replacement part

Good replacement. They fit my Escape 09 as expected. The metal clips were interesting but they worked. I had to cut them with scissors after tightening. Overall I would recommend these if you are looking for a boot replacement.

Pros
  • True to original form, fit and function
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Incorrect but physically fitting

It should have been true to size but my boots are not ventilated. I filled the vent with silicone and used it anyway. The inner metal strap was difficult to tighten, so I used a plastic binding if I had one. I have no idea what the wire loop is used for.

Pros
  • Quality construction for durability
Cons
  • No performance

Pretty sure it's a repackaged Ford OEM part

. If you have an early Ford Escape or Mazda Tribute (quite likely pre '09) this part will cost close to $100 at the dealer. It's crazy. The Moog part that intersects with this part number is incorrect, it does not have a carry hose connector on the trunk. 103-2897 are the boots you need. It looks just like an OEM Ford part. Even includes 2 metal straps like OEM.

Pros
  • . Specific application for this car
Cons
  • Clarity

2005 escape. for rack and pinion

Perfect for my 2005 Escape. Fairly easy to install: remove the tie rod end (the trickiest part because the lock nut was rusted on so I loosened the lock nut with a propane torch had to heat to loosen Remove the tie rod end by counting the number of full turns to remove (in my 27.5 turns) Remove the lock nut Remove the old boot Fit the new boot (first apply plenty of silicone spray to the closed parts and smear some grease (hose clamp works) Replace tie rod end same number of turns as it was…

Pros
  • One piece neoprene boot (not a split boot)
Cons
  • Slightly torn
