Fixed my misfires, good for coils

Coils seems to be a common fault on the 99 Miata, this fixes that. Does not include a rubber damper like all replacement coils.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Chinese junk with expensive brand

Only lasted one year / 15000 km. Now the 1st and 4th cylinders no longer light up. This role is rubbish. Beck/Arnley quality isn't what it used to be.

Pros
  • Works without hands
Cons
  • Some defects

Lasts 6 months on spools

I purchased this item and installed it on my Miata 1999 Anniversary Edition 6 months ago. part failed. Beck-Arnley tells me the warranty is through Revain and not Revain, but I don't see where to go to have it replaced. Totally dissatisfied with this purchase.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Fine

no problems with fit or functionality, hope it lasts a long time

fits, works. You should use the rubber bushing from the one you remove from the car, but it doesn't matter. The only question is durability. I have a 2000 Miata and this seems to be a common problem with ignition coils, presumably due to the high heat at their mounting location. I've only been using it for about a month.

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • almost never

Great price, a true OEM replacement.

Installed on a '99 Miata. I checked the part number against the manufacturer's master list to make sure it was both coils. It is already assembled and delivered in the OEM mounting bracket. The lower insulator sleeve on the lower attachment point is missing, I don't normally use it anyway. It is exactly the same as the OEM device. Excellent price, quality (famous manufacturer). Why pay $50-75 for used reels? This is a very good find!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Worked for a while.

Disappointed I bought the spool on 08/17/2017 already bad. Cylinders 2 and 3 do not work. Seems like some people have had success with this unit, not sure if it's just short term or if they will be in the same position I'm in right now. Also pay close attention to the warranty information. I called Beck Arnley and they said the company you bought it from covers the warranty - I haven't been able to find contact info for the warranty yet.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

10 months/1223 miles and FAILURE

This review is for a Beck-Arnley 178-8492 coil that I bought in 2014 but only ended up installing in my Miata 2000 1.8L got August 2017 when its original coil pack failed after 67,014 miles. This NEW coil pack from Beck Arnley failed in early July 2018 after 1223 miles of light use. This is a full-fledged production car, used only in good weather and does not participate in races. After getting engine codes P0300/P0301/P0304 I was sure the coils had to be good so I replaced the cam angle sensor

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Functionality
