DOES NOT PROTECT AGAINST POWER SUPPLY!

Lightning struck my house last week. I had a router, modem, and security camera plugged into this extension cord and all three blew, including the extension cord. Most of my other electronics hooked up to other splitters or directly to the wall didn't fry. If you're looking for an extension cord this works great, but if you really need a surge protector I highly recommend getting something else. Now I can't even use it as an extension cord.

Bad buy Accessories and consumables

I chose this surge protector because I know this brand. Looks like this is a product not to buy! The input and output of the coaxial cable are labeled incorrectly. If you connect a coax cable from the wall to the input, it won't work. You must connect it to the exit! Makes no sense at all. If not, can you imagine what kind of surge protector you're getting :( Who knows what else is wrong and flawed with this protein. Unfortunately, the internet signal is also getting a lot weaker. The Revainโ€ฆ

Fits my HDTV and other connected devices and gear

This particular surge protector is better than the Belkin BE112234, a thinner gray model that appears to be built out of Lego pieces. Had to return it to get this enhanced version which is MASSIVE but appears to be much better built and high quality. I attached two Command Velcro strips with the image on the back and attached them to the wall next to the home theater system. It seems to be doing its job well. However, it doesn't get 5 stars because it has phone and coax jacks, which I don'tโ€ฆ

Invest in a good surge protector like this - little value for very good protection for the money

MARCH 2017: I usually only review 5 star and 1 star items. In that case, give this surge protector 5 stars. For more than 30 years I have lived in several states in the southern United States - Florida, Georgia and Texas - and thunderstorms in this part of the country are the strongest. I mean cruelty! The house rattles. Extreme. And sometimes with hail on the same. We also had power outages. Around 2007, one of our houses was struck by lightning; He knocked out the exterior headlights, burnedโ€ฆ

How Belkin got it wrong

[NOTE: This page contains reviews of various models. To be clear, I'm looking at a 6 foot, 8 outlet model that does NOT have a rotating plug. Like many people, I have many outlets throughout my home. While they all serve their purpose, some are better than others. And some are definitely worse than others. I have yet to find the perfect extension; There always seems to be at least one downside. I bought this unit for a very specific project, but the pros and cons should apply to whatever homeโ€ฆ
