DOES NOT PROTECT AGAINST POWER SUPPLY!

Last week my house was struck by lightning. I had a router, modem, and security camera plugged into this extension cord and all three blew, including the extension cord. Most of my other electronics hooked up to other splitters or directly to the wall didn't fry. If you're looking for an extension cord this works great, but if you really need a surge protector I highly recommend getting something else. Now I can't even use it as an extension cord.

Pros
  • Reliable products and services: Includes a lifetime warranty and a $200,000 attached hardware warranty for a worry-free purchase. You can connect multiple devices to extended outlets without the hassle of cables. See full specs: 6000 volts peak, 15 amps AC, 125V and 1875W.
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Ideal outlet placement for oversized TV plugs.

It's definitely worth buying! I have so much room to plug in whatever I need and even with the way it's mounted with a row in the middle, a wide plug still fits in the middle because they have enough space between the plugs have left. Love the extra space, perfect for cumbersome forks. Very happy. On my old surge protector the wider forks took up two spaces and I was planning on putting them very far apart outside but they are actually great for the middle row because there was extra room left…

Pros
  • Ideal for computers, laser printers and home theaters; Including coax connection
Cons
  • Modern

Non-Gigabit Ethernet

I have the ethernet protected version. It's a good expansion, but the lack of detail in the Revain listing made me waste my money. I was plugged into a different Belkin power strip when my router burned out due to a lightning strike. My laptop is also behaving strangely now (it's running Linux, so it's not malware). I figured my router and possibly my laptop burned out since my ethernet wasn't protected against surges. About an hour later I ordered this extension because it had ethernet…

Pros
  • Optional AC outlets with safety locks: Each outlet is equipped with a safety slide lock that closes unused outlets and protects you and your children. It also offers coaxial cable protection to protect your cable and satellite channels, as well as Ethernet protection to keep your network and internet connected without interruption.

Several practical sockets for home entertainment

I bought this extension cord to have enough outlets for my TV/entertainment system. It's not like it's a huge or complex setup, but each small device needs its own power supply. It's essentially a TV, Roku, DVD player, soundbar, subwoofer, Chromecast, HDMI switch and clock radio. Just enough that the average extension cord just won't do. Nothing that requires a lot of power, but the wall warts make it difficult to wire everything. When I saw this I hoped it would solve my problem. (By the way…

Pros
  • Compact, powerful and space-saving. Widely spaced sockets offer plenty of space for large plugs and charging boxes. The slim design makes it ideal for home offices, workspaces and playrooms. Durable 1.8m cable with spade connectors for easy installation in hard-to-reach places.
Cons
  • No power

Will it work with my HDTV and other connected devices and equipment

This particular surge protector is better than the Belkin BE112234, a slimmer gray model that appears to be built out of Lego bricks. Had to return it to get this enhanced version which is MASSIVE but appears to be much better built and high quality. I attached two Command Velcro strips with the image on the back and attached them to the wall next to the home theater system. It seems to be doing its job well. However, it doesn't get 5 stars because it has phone and coax jacks, which I don't…

Pros
  • Sockets have sliding protective covers; Detachable cable holder for cable management
Cons
  • Doubtful

MARCH 2017: I usually only rate products with 5 and 1 stars. In that case, give this surge protector 5 stars. For more than 30 years I have lived in several states in the southern United States - Florida, Georgia and Texas - and thunderstorms in this part of the country are the strongest. I mean cruelty! The house is booming. Extreme. And sometimes with hail on the same. We also had power outages. Around 2007, one of our houses was struck by lightning; He knocked out the exterior headlights…

Pros
  • Multi-socket power supply. Power Strip: Power everything on your desk with a compact surge-protected power strip. This durable power cord provides 8 surge-protected AC outlets to charge your computer, laptop, phone, camera and more. A charging station for a clean desk.

What Belkin Got Wrong

[NOTE: This page contains reviews of different models. To be clear, I'm looking at a 6 foot, 8 outlet model that does NOT have a rotating plug. Like many people, I have many outlets throughout my home. While they all serve their purpose, some are better than others. And some are definitely worse than others. I have yet to find the perfect extension; There always seems to be at least one downside. I bought this unit for a very specific project, but the pros and cons should apply to whatever home

Pros
  • Protect your devices and devices. The electrical strip is rated at 3550 joules and provides a reliable power strip to protect laser printers, broadband modems or home theater systems. It protects your electronic components from overload, short circuit, over voltage, lightning or surge.
Cons
  • Unsure
