Description of Ultimate Protection and Style: ๐Ÿšด BELL 4Forty MIPS Adult Mountain Bike Helmet

FUSION IN-MOLD POLYCARBONATE SHELL - A process pioneered by Bell bonds the helmet's outer shell to the EPS foam liner to create a sturdier helmet. MIPS-EQUIPPED AND FLOAT FIT (INTEGRATED WITH MIPS) - MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet designed to reduce rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. A minimalist, lightweight fit system with an easy-to-turn rubber overmolded dial for adjustments (integrated with MIPS). NO-TWIST TRI-GLIDES AND SWEAT GUIDE - Quick-adjust fasteners that help keep straps flat and properly positioned. Sweat Guide pad design pulls moisture away from the brow pad and away from eyewear. Do not buy! Gaskets OUT OF PRODUCTION!

The pads are less than a year old and the pads are worn. I called Bell and they said pads were out of stock! How is it that the helmet padding kits sold by BELL and AMAZON are not available? Bell referred me to a company called Weber Sports who confirmed that the 4Forty pad sets were DISCONTINUED and Bell then told me to look to Revain for "universal" pad sets where you "cut" the pads to match your helmet. How can a "currently available" product be discontinued as a replacement pad? Becauseโ€ฆ

Great helmet, reliable and great price.

A few months ago I bought my first bike with this helmet. After several rides I crashed for the first time and quite hard. I hurt my shoulder, hurt a few ribs and totally messed up my quads. Luckily for me I would have been in the hospital with at least one concussion, if not something worse, if I hadn't been wearing a quality helmet. I hit my head on a rock and the worst I had was a small bruise near my eyebrow. The helmet was dented and the foam was cracked so it was compromised but it didโ€ฆ

The helmet fits very well. The size chart was surprisingly accurate. I always thought I had a big head so I would usually order a larger one but trusted the sizing guide which recommended a medium size and it was right for the money. I have the copper color and it looks great. Very nice matte metallic copper-orange colour. The dial on the back is easy to use even while driving. As promised, the "slide" wicks sweat away from my forehead. Really cool feature that you won't appreciate until youโ€ฆ

Well fitting helmet with MIPS.

I was looking for an open face MTB helmet with a visor long enough to fit my action camera underneath. I took a chance with this Bell 4Forty and it worked fantastic! The visor is long enough and has enough room and movement to lift the action cam out of my line of sight. Only thing is I had to add velcro to help with the extra weight. Now I don't have to worry about branches and/or brushes hitting the top mounted cam and knocking it off. The Bell 4Forty is also a great helmet for the price with

Perfect fit for a long oval head

I really like the fit of this helmet. Most descriptions from bicycle helmet manufacturers do not take the shape of the rider's head into account. I've found that most of them are designed for a round head shape and an intermediate oval at best. Describing the shape of a head and making a helmet out of it is a common practice for motorcycle helmet manufacturers. In motorcycle helmets I have what is known as a long oval head. The hat size I wear is 7 5/8 to 7 3/4. I am approx. 61.5 cm tall, dueโ€ฆ
